What Is UAE E-Invoicing?
The UAE is moving from PDF and paper invoices to structured electronic invoicing. Under the national programme led by the Ministry of Finance and the Federal Tax Authority (FTA), invoices and credit notes are created as structured data, validated, sent through an accredited provider and reported to the tax authority.
The UAE uses a decentralised model known as DCTCE (Decentralised Continuous Transaction Controls and Exchange). The UAE data standard is called PINT AE. Every VAT-registered business in scope needs an ERP that can produce and receive these documents.
For Odoo users, that means checking invoice data quality, tax configuration and integrations, and connecting Odoo to an Accredited Service Provider (ASP). That is the work we do.
B2B and B2G Transactions
Structured electronic invoices and credit notes exchanged between VAT-registered businesses and with government entities.
Structured XML, Not PDF
A PDF or scanned invoice no longer counts as a tax invoice. The invoice is a machine-readable XML document exchanged over the network.
Real-Time Reporting to FTA
Tax data from each invoice reaches the Federal Tax Authority through your service provider, giving the FTA near real-time visibility.
Credit Notes and Corrections
Corrections must also be issued electronically and linked to the original invoice, so your ERP needs controlled credit note flows.
UAE E-Invoicing Timeline
The rollout is phased by annual revenue. Dates below are based on published Ministry of Finance guidance. Confirm your category with the FTA, or ask us to check for you.
From 1 July 2026
Voluntary pilot
Businesses can join the pilot with an accredited service provider to test connectivity and invoice flows before the mandate applies.
Go-live 1 January 2027
Businesses with revenue of AED 50 million or more
Appoint an Accredited Service Provider (ASP) by 31 July 2026 and issue all in-scope invoices through the e-invoicing system from 1 January 2027.
Go-live 1 July 2027
Businesses with revenue below AED 50 million
Appoint an ASP by 31 March 2027 and go live on 1 July 2027. Smaller businesses get longer, but ERP changes still take months.
Regulations may be updated. This page is general information, not tax or legal advice.

Our UAE E-Invoicing Services for Odoo
From the first readiness review to post-go-live support, one team covers the whole journey.
Readiness Assessment
We review your Odoo version, chart of accounts, tax set-up, customer and vendor master data, custom modules and invoice volumes, then deliver a gap report and a costed roadmap.
Accredited Provider Integration
We connect Odoo to your chosen FTA-accredited service provider over API, covering sending, receiving, status callbacks and error handling.
PINT AE Invoice Mapping
We map Odoo invoices, credit notes, taxes, units, currencies and payment terms to the mandatory PINT AE data fields, including TRN and Emirate codes.
Master Data Cleansing
Correct TRNs, legal names, addresses, e-invoice endpoint IDs and product codes are what keep invoices from being rejected. We validate and clean them in bulk.
Inbound Vendor Invoices
Received e-invoices are pulled into Odoo as vendor bills, matched with purchase orders and routed for approval without manual re-keying.
Custom Module Upgrades
Custom invoice templates, POS flows, subscriptions and third-party integrations are updated so every invoice-creating process produces a compliant document.
Testing and Parallel Run
We test in a sandbox with realistic scenarios (discounts, advances, free zones, reverse charge, credit notes) and run parallel before cutover.
Training and Hypercare
Finance and sales teams learn the new workflow, and our consultants monitor rejections and delivery status during the first weeks after go-live.

- 04
Test
Run end-to-end tests with your provider, including rejections, credit notes and inbound invoices.
